Limelight Video Platform Player Adds More to Facebook

You can now add a Limelight Video Platform player to your company’s Facebook fan page which is a great alternative to the very basic player that Facebook provides by default.

The process of setting up the LVP player in Facebook is fairly technical and may require a working knowledge of the Facebook Markup Language (FBML). Here are the instructions:

1) login to Facebook fan page or create a new one
2) Add Static FBML application to your page
3) Select to ‘Edit’ your page then select ‘Applications’ from the left-margin menu
4) On FBML select ‘Go to Application’
5) Use the tag to create player code
6) Insert the code then save (example code below)

Once completed, you will see the LVP player appear on your new Facebook tab. Please note that the player is only an image. So if you included a playlist like the one pictured here, it will not be interactive until the user clicks the image. Once this is done, then the player will load and become fully interactive.

Here is example FBML code that will render a Delve player in a facebook page:

From time to time, Delve likes to remind our customers of the powerful syndication tools that are already part of the Delve Networks online video platform. Take iTunes for example. Delve provides two options for distributing an iTunes feed to your audience. Give viewers the ability to subscribe directly though a Delve Networks player or promote discoverability in ITunes search by submitting your feed to the iTunes store. Both options are already ready for use in your Delve account. Make your content global!

To enable iTunes sharing for a channel, modify the channel’s ‘Publish Settings’
