Delve CEO’s 2009 Top 10 Video Predictions for 2009

I had the opportunity to write a guest article for Mashable, one of the top blogs covering the Internet industry, and in the spirit of the new year decided to outline my top predictions for Internet video in 2009.

Some of these predictions will not surprise anyone, e.g., video consumption will continue to grow, while others may be more surprising. For example, I believe YouTube’s market share will decrease in 2009. In some ways, YouTube will become a victim of it’s own success; video has become so mainstream that it will become part of the fabric of the web and every site will eventually have video content.

More websites will look for ways to put their own video online or syndicate video from partners for the enrichment of their audience. We will see this expand from more media and consumer oriented sites like Hulu and YouTube to include sites in other categories, e.g., goverment, education, healthcare, retail.

Despite all the recent doom and gloom about the economy, I see nothing but exciting things for video in 2009.
